Mark Weatherill has been studying Budo since 1973, and whilst serving in the Royal Marines Commandos came across Okinawan Goju Ryu, in 1986, a style he had always wanted to practice, having read so much about it from old karate magazines, and hear say from Marines who had seen the style performed.

Mark is now a Physical Education Officer in the Prison Service, with a long experience of Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Injuries and specializes in Resistance Training for sportsmen/ athletes/ the military and martial arts practitioners. This He says, helps greatly with understanding principals of movement at all levels of Karate Do, and the effects of all Waza on the body.

Sensei Mark does not run a fixed location Dojo, but teaches students when He and They are available. Only Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu, As practiced at the Jundokan So Honbu in Okinawa, is taught, no sport, no flashy Jodan Kicks, just Goju Ryu as it is supposed to be, in a friendly environment .( this is not to be confused with easy!)

Sensei Mark travels regularly to Jundokan seminars, both in the UK and Abroad. He also helps Sensei Eric Williams with Gradings in North Wales.
